Miles Nielsen returns to The Terrace with his full band! Led by free-wheeling frontman Miles Nielsen, The Rusted Hearts have been wowing audiences for years with the diversity of their sound, the tightness of their 4-part harmonies, and the quality of their songcraft. Equally comfortable in a compact 3-minute pop song and an epic 10-minute jam, the band has toured incessantly since their inception in 2011, amassing an army of hardcore followers that have dubbed themselves the Rusted Herd.
Miles has a rare gift: he can spin songs out of thin air, sometimes making them up on the spot, turning audience moments into music.
The Miles and the Rusted Hearts have made Aitkin an annual stop for the past four years, and every time they return, the crowd grows. It’s easy to see why — they’re not just exceptional musicians; they’re the kind of artists who make you feel like you belong there.
Rockford-based Miles Nielsen is a second-generation professional music maker. His father Rick Nielsen is a founding member of the seminal Rockford, Illinois band Cheap Trick. Nielsen inherited his father’s gifts as a guitar player but, unlike his Dad, Miles is a powerful, emotive vocalist. His music is part rock, part folk, and part gypsy wedding party.
