Equally comfortable in a compact 3-minute pop song and an epic 10-minute jam\, the band has toured incessantly since their inception in 2011\, amassing an army of hardcore followers that have dubbed themselves the Rusted Herd. \nMiles has a rare gift: he can spin songs out of thin air\, sometimes making them up on the spot\, turning audience moments into music. \nThe Miles and the Rusted Hearts have made Aitkin an annual stop for the past four years\, and every time they return\, the crowd grows. His father Rick Nielsen is a founding member of the seminal Rockford\, Illinois band Cheap Trick.
