One night\, four strangers ended up on a late night float trip down the Guadalupe River. As they made their way down the river singing songs\, the beautiful harmonies floated into the heads of sleeping campers. The next morning\, the boys overheard a man telling a friend that he was “awakened by a midnight river choir.” That was all it took. \nThe boys realized the magic of their combined talents and began writing and performing together under that River-God given name. The formation of Midnight River Choir was nothing short of a force of nature that now translates seamlessly during their live shows. This band needs no labels or comparisons. Their music speaks volumes about who and what they are. Their lives have been woven together by a strong thread of raw energy both on and off stage. They believe that what you get is what you give and they give everything they have to their crowds. When that kind of energy lands back at the feet of the boys it is something of supreme intensity. \nAnd no one ever forgets it. \nEric Middleton: Guitar\, Lead Vocals \nBob Driver III: Bass\, Vocals \nBlake Bentley: Piano\, Vocals \nGeorge Talbert: Drums\, Vocals \n**This is a seated show – Select your seats on the venue map. SUMMARY:Eli Gardiner with Jordan Messerole at The Terrace
DESCRIPTION:Seated Show – First Come First Served \nDoors: 6:00 PM \nJordan Messerole: 7:00 PM / Eli Gardiner: 8:00 PM \nMembers of Friends of the Arts can use the discount code you were sent in your welcome email to get $5 off tickets. If you don’t have your discount code\, email us at friends@aitkinarts.org \nEli Gardiner \nEli is a songwriter from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan\, currently located in Minneapolis Minnesota. He writes music that can be described as Americana\, Heartland Rock\, and Folk. Coming of the 2020 release of his album\, The Fire and The Medicine\, he formed his full band comprised of drummer Greg Schutte (Mickey Hart\, Ryan Bingham) lap steel/electric guitarist Dan Schwartz\, keyboardist Kevin Gamble and bassist Nick Salisbury (Ryan Bingham\, Brian Fallon). \nThe album\, Transient was released December 15th 2023. It was recorded this past winter in Eli’s home studio. It is comprised of intimate\, hushed songs that showcase the depth of his writing. Drawing on inspiration from albums like Springsteen’s Nebraska\, Eli delves into the more mysterious and haunting depths of American storytelling. \nEli grew up in musical household. His mom played flute and piano and his dad classical guitar. Music was always on\, James Taylor\, Jim Croce\, and Bonnie Raitt would be playing as dinner was made and the dishes were washed. From a young age he pursued his first passion though\, hockey\, not starting to write songs until he was out of high school. “I remember sitting in my room trying to learn chords on my dad’s old nylon string guitar\, he had a song book and I think the first song I learned was House of The Rising Sun.” Shortly after\, he recorded the first songs he wrote on a 4 track Tascam tape recorder. “I still have some of those old notebooks I wrote those old songs in” Eli states. Moving to Minneapolis was a turning point for his music career. \nEli’s music is always changing\, morphing to the mood and groove. It can be described as Americana or Rock\, but the themes are deeply rooted in our lives in present day\, what it means to be a human and to be sympathetic to other people. It’s about our connection\, how we are all the same and crave that understanding that music can bring at its most transcendental times. \nEli Gardiner Music Video \nJordan Messerole \nMulti-award winning songwriter Jordan Messerole is an Americana musician from central Minnesota. From the depths of his midwestern roots\, Messerole masterfully blends the sounds of his guitar with engaging lyrics\, and often a harmonica\, to tell gritty American tales that are bound to evoke emotion from all of his listeners. The motifs of his songs can vary as greatly as the wild flowers in the native tall grass. Messerole does frequently write about that flora\, as well as the fauna of the region. Not to mention all of it’s wild life. Not one to shy away from subject matter\, the songs can frequently meander across the lines between love and loss\, success and failure\, or life and death. Jordan has garnered awards and distinctions that have landed him in the same company as John Prine\, Jason Isbell\, and John Hiatt. Fans of the aforementioned artists will find satisfaction in his songs as well. Messerole is happy to share his original folk\, blues\, and alternative country music that’s cultivated right here in the heart of the Great Plains. \nJordan Messerole Music Video \nDont forget to join Aitkin County Friends of the Arts! SUMMARY:Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts
DESCRIPTION:DOORS 6PM/SHOW 7PM \nMiles Nielsen returns to The Terrace with his full band! Led by free-wheeling frontman Miles Nielsen\, The Rusted Hearts have been wowing audiences for years with the diversity of their sound\, the tightness of their 4-part harmonies\, and the quality of their songcraft. Equally comfortable in a compact 3-minute pop song and an epic 10-minute jam\, the band has toured incessantly since their inception in 2011\, amassing an army of hardcore followers that have dubbed themselves the Rusted Herd. \nMiles has a rare gift: he can spin songs out of thin air\, sometimes making them up on the spot\, turning audience moments into music. \nThe Miles and the Rusted Hearts have made Aitkin an annual stop for the past four years\, and every time they return\, the crowd grows. It’s easy to see why — they’re not just exceptional musicians; they’re the kind of artists who make you feel like you belong there. \nRockford-based Miles Nielsen is a second-generation professional music maker. His father Rick Nielsen is a founding member of the seminal Rockford\, Illinois band Cheap Trick. Nielsen inherited his father’s gifts as a guitar player but\, unlike his Dad\, Miles is a powerful\, emotive vocalist. His music is part rock\, part folk\, and part gypsy wedding party. \n\nDoors – 6:00\nMiles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts – 7:00\n\nGET YOUR TICKETS TODAY!\nAitkin County Friends of the Arts members receive a $5 discount – use the code in your welcome email. SUMMARY:Reese Glover Band
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 6 PM/Show: 7PM \nSeated show: first come first served. \nAbout Reese Glover: \nBased out of Minneapolis-St.Paul\, Reese Glover didn’t plan on becoming a singer-songwriter—he happened upon it. \nHis twenties carried him—and a newly acquired hand-me-down guitar—from his Middle American upbringing into the Mountain West\, where you’d find him at a lonely open mic covering Tyler Childers for anyone who’d listen. Returning home to Minnesota years later is when he found his roots and rhythm in performing live and writing. With a harmonica to his lips and an acoustic guitar strapped to his back\, he’s built a name for himself and a band to match\, filling local venues\, playing festival stages\, and supporting national acts—most recently rising artists The Joe Stamm Band and Josh Meloy. \nTheir live sound is noticeably authentic—raw\, punchy\, and fun—and with a fiddle and steel guitar stage right\, the music reaches westward. His narrative-driven songwriting blends traditional country with rock and blues\, grounded in a rootsy feel that connects with a wide range of listeners. Fans have drawn comparisons to Turnpike Troubadours\, Ryan Bingham\, Shane Smith & the Saints\, and Zach Bryan. \nHis single\, “Time and Time Again\,” has listeners turning heads\, even earning a spot on “Saving Country Music’s” honorable mentions for Best Country Songs of 2025. Written and recorded at his home in Minnesota\, Time and Time Again comes to life with production and pedal steel from Zach Holliday and drums from Devon Carothers\, both members of Josh Meloy’s band. The track jumps off the page as a promising debut for this fresh voice in music\, with new music already on the way and a story that feels far from finished. \n“…The tune [Time and Time Again] is rich with poetic and visual storytelling\, channeling the spirit of unity\, honesty\, and human complexity\, reminding you of who you are and leaving the world buzzing in harmony. After it’s over\, you’re struck with that awe-inspiring sense that life is big and beautiful and worth it.” \nVideo Sample \nReese Glover Website \nPlease bring an ID if you’d like to purchase alcoholic beverages. \nWhere’s my discount code? If you are a current member of Aitkin County Friends of the Arts\, you received a discount code for all 2026/27 participating shows. If you did not receive the code\, please email us at friends@aitkinarts.org. How do I become a member? Click here for more info. Trust us – it’s quick & painless.
